Vietnam and Sri Lanka 2025
We started the trip out in the northern city of Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. It is a bustling and lively city, both ancient and modern at the same time. We used Hanoi as the home base for traveling throughout northern Vietnam.
After Hanoi, we visited the famous Lan Ha Bay, with floating villages surrounded by giant rocks jutting out of the sea. We spent the first night there on a cruise ship, and the second night on an island called Cat Bae.
After the bay, we went far up into the mountains at the very northern tip of Vietnam, near the border to China. In these mountains we stayed near a town called Sapa, with a tribe of people called the "Hmong", who took us on guided treks around the mountains region.
